I know what you’re thinking, why aren’t we getting new shots from the previous photoshoot? I’d like to know that too, but alas we’re given yet another photo of Austin Aries from Lee South. This one showcases Austin in his new sparkly gear with his X-Division Title. It looks great nonetheless, so check it out in the gallery.

New Photoshoot

Lee South recently put up what could be a BRAND NEW photoshoot of Austin Aries sporting his X-Division title in a locker room setting. This is incredibly surprising consider Lee South doesn’t usually give photoshoots to men, only knockouts. Hopefully, he’ll give us more.

Aries and Shelley Are Flying High
Date: March 6th, 2012 | Filed in Gallery Update, Videos | Author: Candice

We hooked the grapple-mad band up with the UK’s highest-rated wrestling show, stood back and watched the magic happen.

The result is an amazing black and white video for the song The Real McCoy, starring TNA’s X Division Champion Austin Aries and his high-flying rival Alex Shelley.

You can watch it below

The Real McCoy is the opening track on the new GCWCF album Maps, which will be released through Cooking Vinyl on May 7.

The band tour the UK in the same month.

Frontman Sam Duckworth told how the video, which was shot at Nottingham’s Capital FM Arena during TNA’s UK Tour, has been two years in the making.

He said: “Hopefully this goes someway to show the art of professional wrestling. Life would be a more boring place without the squared circle. I hope you enjoy this celebration of it.”

Austin Aries added: “It was a pleasure to take part in the Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly video for The Real McCoy.

“And really, there isn’t a more fitting band name, as I actually do have cape, wear cape and fly.

“As for the band, I’m sure they will agree it was an honour and privilege to have such a great talent like myself join forces with them to create a one of a kind video.

“It may have gone down as The Greatest Video That Ever Lived if it wasn’t for the inclusion of Alex Shelley.”

The video has been premiered on TNA Impact Wrestling, which is broadcast in the UK every Sunday at 9pm on Challenge TV and in more than 120 countries around the world.

Backstage, Bobby Roode ran through his catch phrases and said that what Sting did last week was a disgrace, unprofessional, and bad for business He said the authority figure of Impact Wrestling shouldn’t book himself in the main event. Roode said Sting was past his prime, and he was the future of the business. Austin Aries showed up and told Roode that they are a lot alike, and that Sting was holding Aries back. Aries said the X-Division is never near the main event. Roode asked if Aries had five minutes, and Aries said he’d give him ten.

Elsewhere, Bobby Roode, Austin Aries, and Bully Ray were shown walking through the locker room.

Roode, Aries, and Ray entered the Impact Zone and made their way to the ring. Roode said he was the reason why all the fans were in the arena and everyone was watching him back at home. He called himself the most dominant champion in wrestling history. Roode said that Sting is nothing more than an authority figure. He said Sting should not have laid his hands on him or booked himself in the main event of Victory Road. Roode said he is done.

Bully Ray made the camera get a shot of his calves. Good stuff. Bully Ray said that it was Sting’s fault for what happened to him last week. Ray said Sting caused him the biggest embarrassment of his career, and he showed a video replay of him going through a table. Ray said he and his calves are done.

Aries was up next, the crowd booed, and he shushed them. Aries said he kept quiet for too long, and it was crystal clear that Sting was just another wrestler that didn’t know when to step out of the spotlight. Aries said Sting is jealous of them all. Aries said that two things have always followed him in his career, pissed off people and championship belts. “Oops, I did it again,” he said. Aries said he was done.

All three men sat cross-leg in the ring. Ray said they were staying right there and they weren’t moving. The light went out and then Sting was in the ring with all three men. Sting said he was just playing mind games with Twitter. He said if they were all doing the same thing here, then that was wrestling, but if they were serious, they needed to talk.

Sting then asked Roode how he would kick the crap out of him if he didn’t have a job. Sting asked Aries how he would have a title if he didn’t have a job. Sting asked Ray how he would get paid if he didn’t have a job. Sting asked the men again if they were done.

Sting told Aries that Aries is right, he hasn’t been in any main events, but tonight he would be. Sting booked Aries, Ray, and Roode against Storm, Samoa Joe, and Magnus for tonight’s main event. The lights went out, and Sting was gone again.

James Storm, Samoa Joe, and Magnus vs Bobby Roode, Austin Aries, and Bully Ray

Aries and Magnus started the match and the two worked some chain wrestling to start. Aries called for a test of strength, and Magnus displayed his height advantage. Aries began to take the fight to Magnus but Magnus managed to catch him with a stiff shot.

Storm and Roode tagged into the match and the show went to break. The show returned with Bully Ray getting the better of James Storm. Storm managed to wrench Ray’s arm and stomped on his wrist before tagging Samoa Joe into the match. Samoa Joe hit a series of chops and a beautiful leg lariat. Aries tagged in, got taken down by Joe, and Joe tagged in Magnus.

Roode tagged in and Magnus tagged in Storm and Roode ran for the hills. Aries tagged back in and Storm tagged in Joe. Joe punched Aries into the mat. Joe faked fatigue, Aries charged, and Joe casually walked away as Aries dropkicked the turnbuckle. Aries managed to hit Joe with a forearm and he tagged in Ray. Ray went right to work attacking Joe’s neck. The heels worked a series of quick tags to keep Joe grounded and in their corner. Roode mocked Storm, who charge into the ring and spit as Roode again ran away. The ref put him back in his corner and the heels continued going to work on Joe.

Finally, Joe caught Roode with an urinagi and crawled all the way to Storm o get the hot tag. Storm made quick work of his opponents, and he hit Rode with a series of running forearms. Bully Ray attacked Storm and punched him down in the corner as Aries ascended the ropes. Aries accidentally hit Ray and Magnus and Joe hit their snapmare into elbow combo. Roode charged in and hit his spinebuster on Magnus as Ray struck Joe with his chain.

James Storm hit Closing Time on Roode and followed with Last Call. Storm covered Roode for the 1-2-3.

Winners: James Storm, Brutus Magnus, and Samoa Joe

Bully Ray interrupted the celebration and he threw a steel chair at James Storm. Storm caught it, and Ray hit a big boot on the chair to knock Storm out. Ray stood over Roode and declared that Storm would not make it into Lockdown because Ray was going to make himself the number-one contender and Ray was going to take his “good friend’s title.

X Division Champion Austin Aries & Zema Ion vs Alex Shelley & Shannon Moore

Aries is obviously the captain of his team, ordering Ion out to the ring apron as he goes at it with Moore. Aries takes him down with a side headlock, Moore escapes with a headscissors, but Moore obviously has never seen Aries wrestle because he’s caught completely unaware by the kickout and dropkick to the face. Ion tags in and he goes at it with Moore, but he quickly winds up in the wrong part of town and Shelley tags in to work over his arm. Ion blatantly grabs Shelley’s hair in front of the referee, Shelley hits a headscissors, but Ion catches him with an enziguiri. Ion tells Aries that’s how it’s done, so Aries tags himself in and their miscommunication leads to Moore getting an opening to clean house on both guys. Aries rolls out to the floor and Moore takes him out with a baseball slide and then hits the same Asai moonsault that took Sorensen out at the PPV. Moore grabbed Ion’s hairspray can, but this infuriates Ion and he baseball slides Moore, then gets takes outby Shelley. Moore slams Aries and tags out to Shelley, who misses a double stomp, but he hits a superkick and goes for Sliced Bread #2. Aries shoves him off into the corner and he hits the IED and goes for the brainbuster, but Ion tags himself in and rolls Shelley up for the win.

Winners: Austin Aries & Zema Ion

Aries looks confused at what happened and Ion gets into a shoving match with Ion, but that gets cooled off quickly and Ion and Aries get in each other’s faces.

Austin Aries vs Alex Shelley for the X-Division Championship

Tenay noted that Jesse Sorensen had been taken to a hospital for evaluation. There were dueling crowd chants early on. The Shelley fans seemed to outnumber the Aries fans. Shelley wanted to dive on Aries at ringside, but Aries hid under the ring twice. Shelley was finally able to perform the suicide dive he’d been looking for at 8:20.

Aries caught a Shelley kick attempt and came back with an offensive flurry of his own that led to a near fall. He went for his finisher at 9:50, but Shelley blocked it. They exchanged big blows with Aries getting the better of it with a spinning punch. Later, Aries performed a Death Valley Driver on Shelley on the ring apron. Tenay did a nice job of selling it by talking about Shelley’s injury history and how hard that area of the ring is.

At 12:00, Shelley made his comeback and hit Sliced Bread. The ref counted the three, but immediately pointed at the hand of Aries, who had grabbed the bottom rope at the last moment. At 13:10, Aries hit his brainbuster finisher and covered Shelley, who kicked out to keep the match going.

Shelley came back with a small package for a near fall of his own. Shelley fired away with a two kicks and scored another really good near fall. A loud “this is awesome” chant broke out. Shelley went for Sliced Bread, but Aries pushed him off and slammed him down to the mat. Aries followed up with a brainbuster and then locked in Last Chancery for the submission win.

Winner: Austin Aries

Williams responds by unloading with a series of European uppercuts, Aries nails Williams and sits him on the top rope for a superplex, but Shelley grabs Aries and they go at it until Aries sends Shelley crashing into Williams and hits an STO.
